The Mullineux Family has greatly contributed to put the Swartland region around Riebeek Kasteel on the wine map with its beautifully hand-crafted wines. This Syrah is the true and complete expression to the Shale & Schist and Granite terroirs in which the vines grow. It expresses notes of spicy citrus rind, refined black fruit, violets and lilies. The palate is elegant and restrained with a silky texture balanced by a fresh, natural acidity. The finish is long with supple tannins. It gets consistently 4.5 - 5 stars from Platter and got 93 from Wine Advocate. A fine example of Swartland wines.
